Rudolf Steiner has once said:” All existence is spirit. Just as ice is water, so matter is also spirit. Mineral, vegetable, animal or human – all are a condensed form of spirit”. Dion Fortune agreed and insisted that all things, objects included, keep a form of energy in them…energy is everywhere.
We swim in a sea of energy and we can feel everyone and everything’s energy in us.
Our bodies
Even our bodies are not as compact as our false senses tell us; we have different bodies, different bodies that are even used by Chi-masters to heal or to do an out of body experience.
Dion fortune believed we have 7 bodies (the number seven has a symbolic significance in esoteric circles):
- Our physical and Etheric body
- Instincts
- Emotions
- Intellect/Concrete mind
- A vehicle of consciousness of abstract ideas
- A body of spiritual qualities
- Divine spark of Pure spirit
Rudolf Steiner spoke of four main bodies:
- Physical Body
- . Etheric body
- Astral Body
- Ego
Indian philosophy
In Indian philosophy, there are 5 bodies:
- Annamaya Kosha- the material body
- Pranamaya Kosha- Our Bioenergy, prana , aura
- Manomaya Kosha – the Noetic Body, the conscious and subconscious, our survival instinct reside there
- VignamaMaya Kosha – Our hard disk of individuality, Sansara, Karma and Dharma
- AnandaMaya Kosha- God and Logos
Our different bodies
My Arcturian Healing Teacher, Gene Ang, revealed to us that Chi Masters use the many bodies for healing. These are the bodies that leave us to go into Astral Travels or Bilocation.
We are all capable of doing this, but our belief in a materialistic Matrix, enslave us into this reality that we believe we cannot get out of. Animals are also in this material reality and can only “escape” here, after they reach another plane and, as all the souls that pass to another plane, travel through the many planes and even come to visit us, when they can.
Animals
Many animals do see our energy bodies and feel our astral body when we travel.
Lyn Buchannan author of The Seventh Sense , and a retired Sergeant First Class who served in the United States Army and a founding member of the International Remote Viewing Association (IRVA), once said, in an interview with Lori Williams (CRV teacher), that the United States army had chosen Controlled Remote Viewing instead of Astral Projection ( also called quantum jumping), because the Soviet Union, at the time, had dogs that were able to feel the Astral bodies that came into the secret bases, that the Soviet had. The animals are able to see all our bodies, as our Aura. As a remote viewer, he served as a trainer in the United States Army Remote Viewing Unit from 1984 to 1992 and currently serves on the board of directors of IRVA. (1)
The Etheric Body
The Etheric body was already known before Christ, as the ancient: western and Eastern people knew of the existence of Ether- as in Essential oils that were used as perfume as one of the five elements of Ayurveda, in India. It was known as the fifth element. It is also said that it is the first body to leave our material body, after death and the second to “die” after the material one.
There are various videos in YouTube that show the Etheric body leaving the material one- independently if these videos are real or not, there are also books of people who had near death experience who describe “going up” to the ceiling and observing their body on the bed.

It seems some schools place an overtly importance on the material body, which yes, while we are alive , we have to care for it with our utmost respect and love, but once this empty case is inoperative, then it is up to the Etheric and Astral body to take over.
A great book that I have read is “Return from Tomorrow” (2)from George G Ritchie, about a soldier (himself) who “dies” in an army hospital and takes some time to understand that he is dead, but then decides to go back to his body and lives to write his book. This is an experience that I have seen from animals, too and Penelope Smith tells a similar story in her book; once the body is dead, there is no more pain and the Etheric body just walks around wondering why nobody can see him or her. Penelope relates of a dog who was run over by a car and could not get back in his boy to go home, but she explains to him that he has died and frees his soul to go back home .
Many religions have a problem with cremation, maybe because of economic reasons, more than superstition.
“Cremation in China dates back to 8000 B.C… Early Persians practiced cremation, which was later prohibited in the Zoroastrian period (600 B.C). In Zoroastrian scripture, a body is a host for decay and fire was considered sacred. The Phoenicians practiced cremation beginning in 1100 B.C., burying the ashes in a trench with the urn on one side and household furnishings on the other. Greeks practiced cremation from 3000 B.C. until 1200 B.C., when new Christian burial practices emerged. Romans also practiced cremation, typically associated with military honors, upper class citizens and imperial family members, but by 400 A.D., burials were more common.Indian religions, such as Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism and Buddhism, prescribe open-air cremations as the body is seen as carrying the soul. This began in 1900 B.C., based on the edict belief that the god of fire receives sacrificial offerings on behalf of all the gods.”(3)
University of Virginia
Ian Stevenson, from the University of Virginia, wrote many books about all his research on children who remembered previous lives (4). He wrote a book called: ‘Where reincarnation and biology intersect” showing that the future body who receives the soul departed, is influenced greatly by the soul past life, even presenting “signs” and defects related to the death of the old body, or even to marks presented by the person before his or her death. Animals can have the same, but the presence of bodily hair creates a barrier to examine their body and besides: Is it important, anyway?
Anna Breytenbach
Anna Breytenbach was asked, in our course with her, if an animal, after death, can come inside another animal to keep company to the human companion. She told us yes, it is called Chimera.
From my experience, there is a lot of pressure to the animal who departed, from his human. My clients are always asking me when the animal will come back to them. I tell them that it is really unfair to pressure the animal so much; that the animal has fulfilled his mission on earth and that he will be waiting for the human, when the human passes; besides, if the animal comes back, he will not be the same.
A must read is Stephen King’s book “Pet Cemetery” (5); in this book a cat comes back to his human…in a horrible way. In the introduction of this book, King tells us that he based his story in an old folk’s tale called: “The Monkey paw” (6).
Conclusion
The Universe is infinite as we are infinite. We and our animals, we have many bodies to take care of. While alive, we should care for our material body but also for our energetic bodies. Once passed to another level, we will carry only our energetic body, we will feel free and light, like so many near death patients, and Ian Stevenson’s subjects describe in various books and videos.
Death is not to be feared, but understood. We should not get attached to the material world and understand that the energetic and spiritual world is where we mainly live and love.
